Feinstein's Portfolio, Hypocrites, and Leadership

Hypocrisy means being less critical of oneself than of others. A well-known example is the smoker criticising someone else for smoking:

Obama : You shouldn't smoke.
Daughter : But you smoke.
Obama : Yes, but I've had a hard day at work and I need to relax.
This could be apart of a script pulled from an upcoming scripted series or reality series on NBC called "The Obamas."

Despite the the obsession our current president has with the administration that preceded his administration, I will move on (minus the .org)

There has been a great deal of talk about the first 100 days of the Obama administration, and I'm overwhelmed with all the talking points that are up in the air.  I have more concerns about the staff he has surrounded himself with that its hard to cover them all.  The only solace I feel is most likely in a short time they will eliminate themselves from their position as information comes forth, either from the beginning of their appointment, or shortly there after from an investigation prompted by the anointed one who wants them on his staff.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein is a person I loathe.  She is the 5th richest in Congress and she spends $1100 dollars to fly from California to Washington on her husbands private jet.  In early January she introduces a bailout bill asking for 25 billion for the FDIC.  Meanwhile, 3 days after her introducing this bailout, her husband decides to buy 10 million dollars worth of stock in his own company.  ( Ok, so what is the big deal; right? )  Then shortly after, the FDIC selects his company out of ALL the other companies like his, and offers him a contract that makes that stock go way up.  This contract also gives him a very lucrative deal.  In this deal, when the FDIC repossess a house they give that house to HIS company to sell.  This deal offers him anywhere from an 8% - 30% profit on each house his company sells.  Dianne Feinstein says she had no knowledge of this deal and her husband's business decisions.  This information is available to the American public and no one seems to notice.  Even tonight, people will wake up and read the New York Times and other publications and continue to tip their hat to the Obama tour of hope.

25 billion for the FDIC?  Wow, Dianne Feinstein really does care about the people; and her husband and more importantly HERSELF!

Then we have Pelosi with her denial she was briefed about waterboarding.  Need I say more?

What I will say is that the Bush administration kept the United States of America safe for 7 years.  This is a fact from the memos Obama released himself in the attempt to criminalize the people involved with obtaining the information from terrorists ( yes "terrorists ) that prevented an attack in Los Angeles.  By the way, that will not appear in the New York Times tomorrow morning.

So as we look into the past with the unrelenting infatuation with the Bush administration, I can't help but sense that we are wasting so much time and energy when we have enough problems to solve.  Obama loves to compare himself to every other president especially President Abraham Lincoln.  Maybe this is because he is looking for his own identity and he needs a role model to emulate as he sits in the White House smoking those pesky little cigarettes blowing smoke rings to count the zeros in trillions.  I do have a suggestion although this suggestion does not totally parallel the current situation Obama has decided to dig himself into.  I read this morning an article that makes this point.  Here is a small portion of the article.

My latest Capital Journal column looks at the parallels between Gerald Ford’s difficult decision on whether to pardon Richard Nixon and the challenge that is confronting President Barack Obama: whether to punish those who used harsh interrogation tactics under the Bushadministration.

At the outset of his presidency, as he tried to run a country in turmoil and economic distress, Gerald Ford faced a critical decision: Should he allow an emotional legal ordeal to proceed, knowing it would leave the country mired in a deeply divisive debate left over from the previous administration? Or should he make a tough decision to move forward instead?

Gerald F. Seib has now given Obama an great suggestion to possibly choose yet another president as a role model as he searches for himself and his leadership skills.

Where is MoveOn.org on this issue?
